    • His mother was an Indian captive at the time, having been captured during the Fort Seybert Massacre in April 1758. She apparently did not know she was pregnant at the time. There is a claim he was born near modern-day Portsmouth. According to a 1935 Lima News article, he was taken "to a camp on the west side of the Scioto river, but north of the Ohio river and opposite of where Portsmouth is now located." But in his application for a Revolutionary War Pension, Henry claimed he was born "somewhere on the Mississippi River in 1759."

      His date of birth is calculated from his date of death and age as listed on his headstone.

      Despite claims elsewhere, yDNA analysis has shown no possible Native American paternity for Henry. [2]
