On Aug. 3, 1786, William Wason was married to Jean McDowell by Rev. John King, Mercersburg, Penna. They went to Butler Co., Penna., where Jane Wasson, widow and relict of William Wasson, decd., of Centre Twp., left a will, prob. Jan. 24,1833, naming dau. Ann, now the wife of John Adams; son Thomas; John and William Thompson, sons of my said dau. Ann; son William's dau. mar. to William McCall; To Grandau. Anibel McCall; To Jane Thompson McCall and Jane Thompson mar. to Joseph Adams. Grandaus; Jane McDowell Wasson and Mary Jane Wasson, daughters of son Thomas; To grandau. In the name of God amen, May the 8th 1806, I William Wason of Butler County, Centre township state of Pennsylvania being weak in but of a sound and disposing mind and memory do make, ordain, and constitute this my last will and testament. And in the first place I recommend my soul to God throu the merits of Jesus Christ and my body to the earth to be buried in a becoming and decent manner douting nothing - nothing but at the resurection the same shall be raised to life again. And as to what worldly wealth God has been pleased to favour me with I distribute, give, and demise in the following manner. First I do bequeth and demise to my wife Jean Wason and my son Thomas Wason the tract of land that I now live on in Butler county, Centre township. 2nd I do bequeth and demise to my son Hugh Wason a tract of land on Cherry run, Armstrong county. The warrant is in High Wason's own name. 3. I bequeth and demise a tract of land to my daughter Annabela Wason containing 170 acors situate in Armstrong county adjoining land of Benjamin Lesur's to the north. 4. I bequeth and demise to my son William Wason a certain tract of land containing 400 sq acors of land situate in Armstrong county adjoining lands of Samuel Slone to the south. 5. I bequeth and demise to my daughter Jean Wason a certain tract of land containing 155 acors situate in Armstrong county adjoining lands of John Wolder on the west. 6. I do hereby constitute and apoint my wife Jean Wason, my brother Hugh Wason and John Adams the sole executors of this my last will and testament to see that the same be caried into execution. This pronounced, sealed and delivered to be my last will and testament in presence of us.
