Obituary of William Berry



BERRY Billy Gene Berry, age 55, of Columbus, died Thursday, April 21, 2005 at St. Ann's Hospital.

He was born October 10, 1949 in Westerly, Fayette County, West Virginia. Attended Linden McKinley High School and was a Veteran U.S. Navy serving in the Vietnam War. Prior to his stroke during surgery in 1989 he worked as a stage hand and was a member of IATSE Local 12. He maintained his excitement and enjoyment in all his many interests and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by parents Fred and Dorothy Jenkins Berry, step-mother Cassie Baughman Berry, sister Judy Mae Berry, half-brother Donald Thurman Berry. Survived by loving wife, Magdalena "Lena"; son, Robert (Liz) Berry; daughter, Dorothy Elisabeth Berry (Billy); grandchildren, Indiana, Lennett, and James; brothers, John (Ila) Berry, Donald Lee Berry, Fred (Deborah) Berry; sisters, Geraldine Berry, Jackie Kay Berry Diefenbach; mother-in-law, Violet Diefenbach; sisters-in-law, Violet (Terry) Barnett, Virginia (Mike) Walker; brothers-in-law, Arthur Diefenbach, Cyndor (Jennifer) Diefenbach; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; special friends, Dick Steele, Dennis Mahoney, and Bill Gregory. Memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, April 28, 2005 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., where family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until time of service. Terry K. Barnett officiating.
