| Text | Violet M. Barnett, 71, of Dublin, went home to be with the Lord Monday, October 15, 2012. She was born July 22, 1941 to the late Carl and Violet Diefenbach. Violet was a devoted teacher in Columbus, Dublin, and the Horizon Math & Science School, retiring this past July after 50 years. Because of her dedication, commitment to excellence and strong work ethic, she received a number of awards and recognitions for achievement and excellence. Violet was an active and long-standing member of Riverside Bible Church and had a strong commitment to Christ's faithfulness. She was a member of professional teaching organizations and a strong advocate for the National Honor Society, creating chapters in Columbus. Violet enjoyed learning, reading, computers, and traveling. She will be dearly missed by her husband, family, students, church family, and all whose lives she touched. In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her brothers Carl and Joseph. Violet will be missed by her loving husband of 50 years, Terry; siblings, Arthur Diefenbach, Magdalena Berry, Cyndor (Jenny) Diefenbach, and Ginny (Mike) Walker; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Riverside Bible Church, 5330 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus. Private family burial.
