Per his notes, he taught at Corpus Christi schools for some time. I've found a listing in the 1942 CC City Directory for a Harold Mueller, "tchr Sr High School" and renting at 3641 Shell Rd, which is now Up River Rd.
According to records from the Corpus Christi ISD, he was paid $1,440 (equivalent to $27,464 in 2021) for the 1941-42 school year as an Assistant Band Director. The records include a glowing recommendation from William Revelli, then Director of Bands at the University of Michigan. "One of the finest seniors of this year's class. Mr. Mueller has what it takes. He is a high class gentleman, scholar, musician. Makes a good appearance, is an excellent musician, has initiative, and is easy to get along with. I recommend him very highly."

I think the entire family made the trip to Sun Valley. There are references in "Harold Mueller Family Chronology" to "Craters of the Moon, HEM & HM." That would have made Hal about 6 or so, and would have been quite a excursion for a 6-year-old
– on a self-guided trip with Robert Mueller. They landed in Brussels, Belgium, then toured France, West Germany, and East Germany.

17th Century Cantatas Due Publication An article in the Dallas Morning News, 24 July 1960 describing the Andreas Hammerschmidt cantatas edited by Dr Harold Mueller
Germany 1982 My father Harold Mueller and I visited Europe in the summer of 1982, driving from Brussels to Normandy, and then to Germany. Our goal was to visit with some relatives in both West and East Germany. My father took many notes on trips like this, and he transcribed his notes from part of this trip, from Winterlinger to Weimar.
